Chicago-based drummer Chase Wilkins brings a straight-ahead, swinging approach to the music, rooted in tradition but with his own perspective. Wilkins has shared the stage with Jeremy Kahn, Clark Sommers, Ron Blake, Reggie Thomas, and Ernest Dawkins. He has played at some of Chicago’s premier venues including The Jazz Showcase, Evanston SPACE, and Winter’s Jazz Club.

Wilkins has studied with many respected Chicago drummers, including Isaiah Spencer, Charles Heath, George Fludas, and Ernie Adams. He currently attends Northwestern University, under a full-ride scholarship, where he studies with Willie Jones III and plays in ensembles led by Derrick Gardner.

Wilkins can be heard on recordings with Alfie Jackson (The Peacocks) and Sam Robinson (Chasin’ The Dream).

Planning Your Visit & Reservations

While we always save room for walk-ins and casual drinks at our bar, table seating fills up fast once the music starts!

Reservations are recommended for the 7:30 pm sets.

Please arrive no later than 15 minutes before your scheduled show. Come early, get settled, and enjoy the atmosphere.

There is a 2-drink minimum per guest during sets. This includes our world-class premium cocktails, wine, beer, & zero-proofs. We are a cocktail & live music venue, and every sip you take directly supports live music and the local jazz experience right here in Evanston!

We focus entirely on perfecting our drink menu & exceptional musical talent. We do not serve food, so be sure to grab a bite in town before or after you arrive. Many fantastic restaurants are within walking distance of Local Note.
